NAAFLS warmly invites you to attend our Ochre Ribbon Week Breakfast on Friday, 14 February 2025 at 8:00 am, at DoubleTree by Hilton, Esplanade, Darwin. Register for your free tickets at Humanitix at https://events.humanitix.com/2025-ochre-ribbon-breakfast
The Ochre Ribbon campaign is held every year from 12th to 19th February. Since the initiative began in 2015, it has been run by one of our sister organisations, Western Australia’s Aboriginal Family Legal Service.
This campaign aims to support existing efforts against family and domestic violence by delivering a clear message directed at Aboriginal communities. Service providers and community members must unite in advocating for Aboriginal families affected by this issue.
At last year’s Ochre Ribbon Breakfast event, we had two guest speakers: the NT Minister of Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, Hon Kate Worden, MLA, spoke about her role in preventing DFSV and her personal experiences; and Tiwi man Mr Kerinaiua and the work he is doing in the Men’s Behaviour Change Program and his experience and the experience of his family.
We have so far confirmed one of our guest speakers: Jenna Roberts, Assistant Commissioner, Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Commission.
Join us for this free event to network and raise awareness of Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence in our Aboriginal Communities. All community members and services are welcome. Tickets available at https://events.humanitix.com/2025-ochre-ribbon-breakfast
