Community Legal Education
Through community legal education we help people understand how the law works and their rights and obligations under the law.
Education sessions
Using videos, PowerPoint presentations, posters, activities and informal group discussions with community residents.
Train the trainer sessions
Working with service providers to empower community-based workers with the knowledge and resources to deliver the information to community residents and improve their service.
Intensive projects with our project team
Engaging with Aboriginal community controlled organisations to co-design education resources and programs based on the community’s needs.
Common questions that drive our education sessions:
- What is domestic violence?
- How do I get a Domestic Violence Order?
- What is mandatory reporting?
- What are my rights when talking with police / welfare?
- What happens if I have to go to court as a witness?
