Community education topics are driven by the community and we deliver education on any topic relating to family law, domestic and family violence, child protection, wills and victims of crime compensation.
Through community legal education we help people understand how the law works and their rights and obligations under the law. This is vital to self-determination as it empowers people to make informed decisions about their own lives. It is particularly important that people understand how the justice system can protect them from family violence.
Using videos, PowerPoint presentations, posters, activities and informal group discussions with community residents.
Working with service providers to empower community-based workers with the knowledge and resources to deliver the information to community residents and improve their service.
Engaging with Aboriginal community controlled organisations to co-design education resources and programs based on the community’s needs.
